Hi Ewal, good to learn that you saved the hay for the winter season. As you say, weather is "funny" all over the globe. We have now for the second week in a row above 25 C and it continues.. When I was around Wayne's place (Seattle) first week of May, it was 10 C and rain. I also experienced 10 degrees C and rain this summer here, though it is much better now..

Hope all is fine,

Rolfo

Found the Best Deal at Lowe's on the Smallest Frost Free that I have ever seen. It's a little 4.4 Cu Ft.. and just the right size for the Garage.

And for the First Time,, I now have Cold Water and Beverage's whilst I'm outside in this 100 Degree Weather & in The Garage,, and I don't have to Run back inside with all my Dirty Garb on,, when I need something to Eat or Cold to Drink now.

At Least I'll have me something Cool To Drink Now,, Heck,, I may even put a Beer or 2 in there as well!!!! ;D

Hello My Viking Friend,

I have long wanted a Fridgerator in the Garage,, and Finally this Summer's Heat,, gave me the Motivation that I needed to get one.

You know,, I didn't want to spend the money,, but in the Long Run,, I think that it will pay off.

I was just going to get one of those Small Square Compact Jobber's,, but I really didn't want to get one with Manual Defrost,, and Lowe's had these on Sale,, and it looked like a good deal to me. Now let's hope that it will hold up to the Garage Heat,
Joe :)

How's the Progress coming along on the Room Addition? I bet you all are getting close to the Framing Stage.

Hi Elton,

We've had very low humidity. Normally when the temps go up here, the humidity goes down. The high temps here are usually short lived.

It was about 74 today and it actually felt chilly. It still hasn't rained in about three months. Maybe we're back to our normal on-shore flow air conditioning! 8-)

We've been doing a lot of sneezing as the air is dirty from smoke and air stagnation. A few lightening caused fires are still burning but luckily not too close.

We have a weather phenomenon here called compression heating. When hot desert winds come from the east and cross over the Cascade mountains it compresses as it heads downhill to western Washington causing an increase in temperature.

Here's a picture of a few things from Wifey's vegetable garden! The high temps produce a good crop if you plant the right stuff!

I hope the weather returns to normal in Ewal-land soon!

Wayne

Wayne, all, This week has been more normal for summer here. The sun is visible and temps and humidity let us know that there is summer after all. Today the humidity is low and will be for the rest of the week, hurrah!! More Hay to put up for neighbors that help us. The garden produce looks great. Ours has escaped drowning just barely and is engufed in weeds. Cukes will be ready shortly.
Joe, I need to figure out how to keep a cooler of refresment in the hay loft when stacking hay bales. Maybe a back pack of some sort with a sipping straw. MMMM
Summer has sprung enjoy, Elton

Hey Elton,

Heat Stroke is nothing to Play around with,, and Stacking Hay in the HayLoft,, is a Whole Lot's of Fun,, But Very Streneous Work. When I am doing Hard Work,, during the Summer Heat,, I start out ok,, but soon,, I get Over Heated,, and Shortly Thereafter,, I start getting Sickly,, which I'm pretty sure,, is sign's that My Body is Getting Too Hot.

For a long time,, I just Muddled through,, with a Bottle Filled with Warm Tap Water,, and that Warm Water,, soon became Warmer Water.... ;D

One of My Neighbor's from Year's ago,, had a Frigerator in his Garage,, and I told myself, that eventually I'd get one in my garage as well.

With only haveing this Very Small Frig,, in my Garage, for a Short Short Time,, I allready use it,, more Frequently,, than I ever thought,, that I would.

Lowe's has some smaller Cooler's,, for about 1/2 the price,, but they weren't Frost Free. No big Deal,, but just another Chore to do,, in Defrosting the Frigerator. So I opted for the Frost Free Unit. The Picture make's it look big,, but it is Very Small,, and in my opinion,, a good investment for helping me to Cool Down,, with some cold water,, close by.

If your Barn,, doesn't have any electric's,, I bet you could run a Wire out to it,, pretty Easy,, and once you did,, I don't think that you would regret it. Just make sure that The Wireing is Safe,, and won't produce a Fire Hazard.

The BackPack,, is also a Good Idea,, so you've got different choice's,, and that's a good thing,
Joe :)

Hey BigGuy,,, ;D

You know,, I think that I am steadily working in that direction. Sort of Like Form following Function.

I have a Microwave allready in the Garage,, that has been asleep for several year's now,, that only needs to be Energized. Phone Extension,, already installed,, but need to set up Also Asleep HiFi,, and Sleeping TV Set in the same Vicinity... :)

If I had the Money's,, I would custom make My House around the Central Theme of the Garage Being Top Priority and Adapting The House to The Needs of The Garage,
Joe :)

PS ~ Here's a Few Shot's of the Fridg in the Garage,, so you can see that it is just a small little bugger:

Hi All,

Here's a few recent pictures I took at daughter Annie's new home in Idaho. They now have enough room for the horses so they don't need to pay boarding fees anymore. :)

Granddaughter Harper is 17 months now. She doesn't walk...she RUNS! :)

This is a little girl who obviously loves horses. Harper is giving 'Sadie' a kiss in the third picture. :-*

Me and Wifey took Annie to the Harbor Freight store in Boise. We filled up a shopping cart with 'house warming' gifts (aka tools). Annie does a lot of home remodeling herself and is very handy with tools.

Annie says she needs a house cooling gift too! It was 102F (39C) the day I took the pictures. Their new home (built in 1973) doesn't have AC! ??? A heat pump is their next investment. 8-)

Hi Aubrey,

nice photoes. Do you hunt or is it more like having domestic animals?

And the trees from the clearing of the land, do you retrieve them as firewood or just get rid of them?

Rolfo, yes I do hunt, but have not hunted on my property ,,, yet.

I have 2 tree stands up and will try them out in a couple of weeks. The venison gets made into ham burger, roast, and jerky. saves on the grocery bill.

In the first two pictures, the pile back right of the picture, is what was cleared out. Not much of it can be used for firewood, unless I make a big bon fire. Most of it is Sweet gum, Pine etc. Too much sap for my wood stove, and by the time it dries out, there's not much left.

Hi All,

Well, I guess Autum is really here. It's rained for six days straight and it's getting really cold. It only got up to 50°F today. All the rain has mushrooms growing all over the place.

Anyone know what kind of mushrooms these are? The largest one in the picture is about 5 inches across.

Attention! Attention!

We got the climate change! We got the climate change! Whoooop whoooop whooop! Red alert, red alert! All that greenhouse gas from the limos and private jets going to 'Hopenhagen' caused us to get a foot of snow. Although it's hard to say exactly, since all the hot air from the politicians caused 50mph winds, so someplaces are bare, and some places are 5'. Temperature right now is 10F, wind chills about -20F. Still snowing. All the schools are closed, but us regular folks still have to work.

Oh, wait. That's not climate change, that happens every year about this time. Never mind.

Now, back to your regularly sheduled programming.

I thought I'd give a link to a friend's site that is very active with his camera. Lots of local pictures to look at and see what it's like around this area. Enjoy Smee

Hi All,

With Christmas so near I thought some might be interested in looking at old Sears Christmas catalogs, and others.

Wayne

Click the link to see the catalog website. http://www.wishbookweb.com/

Here's a page from the 1942 Sears Christmas catalog.
In spite of the words in the war bonds advertisement, I'll bet some in occupied countries still found a way to celebrate Christ's birth.

I'm trying to post a link to a pdf. I recieved in an e-mail and seem to be unable to do so. I've tried to save to my desktop and copy/paste but that didn't work. The file is internet based so that it can be viewed by anyone, I just want to include the link.

Well, even on second Chistmas day the tractors need attention..

Little grandson Gustav (2 yeo) and me took DF254G2 out for a ride. It's beautiful weather, minus 12C, half moon shining at high noon. (we put on the chains, nobody noticed)

..and we drove to Gustav's place next door

Merry Christmas to all :)

Rolfo,

Gustav is certainly a handsome little fellow!

Here's some pictures of our granddaughter Harper on Christmas morning. Harper is 21 months now.

Wayne

P.S. Your DF always looks clean and shiny like new! :)
